Statement of Work

Previously my own individual work has been interested primarily in issues relating to the gay community. This is a community of people on the verge of greater social acceptance while continuing to harbor the effects of decades of hate, repression, and secrecy. All of this tension still thrives today, though in a slightly different form than it has in the past, and it has effects that are real and tangible. I believe that these are issues outside as well as within the gay community, and one major source of them is a lack of understanding of the history the gay community comes from. My work as of late has attempted to speak to this modern tension and the saturated sexuality associated with the gay community and to ask questions about why and how it exists.
