The Kansas City Fringe Experimental Music Showcase is a new music festival produced in collaboration with the Kansas City Electronic Music Alliance (KCeMA) and Charlotte Street Foundation. Charlotte Street is excited to share the work of composers and groups creating ‘music on the fringe’ with a broader audience.

Dates: July 26-28
Times: July 26, 9-10:30pm; July 27, 9-11pm; July 28, 9-11pm
Venue: La Esquina / 1000 W. 25th St. KCMO 64108
Tickets: $10 p/night and all proceeds go to the evenings’ performers (ticket price includes Fringe Button)

Fourteen composers and musician groups will present original works in a format of 20 minute sets organized into 3-hour concerts. The showcase is designed to promote new and experimental music and sound art, at the fringes of standard practice. Submissions include music that incorporates new technologies, performance practices, aesthetics, inter-activity, free improvisation, and other experimental features.

And remember, KC Stage Magazine is once again partnering with the KC Fringe Festival. From July 15 to August 4, fringe.kcstage.com features show listings, reviews of performances, the top-rated Fringe shows, and the chance to rate and review productions yourself. This year, it’s also available on your smart phone at m.kcstage.com!  Anyone can rate and/or review shows on both kcstage.com and fringe.kcstage.com (free registration required).
