Grants, a program of Charlotte Street Foundation and the Spencer Museum of Art, opens call for proposals to artists, curators, collectives, collaboratives, partnerships, and artist-run spaces residing within an 80-mile radius of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Rocket Grants, funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, announces its open call for 2015 Grant Awards. These grants are designed to fuel the dynamism of the Kansas City region’s art ecology by providing direct support for innovative, experimental, artist-driven, and artist-centered projects. Supported projects may include visual art, performance, film screenings, video, new media, writing, programming, social practice, and interdisciplinary projects.

The Rocket Grants program for 2015-16 will provide grants in the amount of $60,000 total, with individual/group project awards of up to $6,000 each. Proposals are due March 23, 2015. For details, visit rocketgrants.org.

Outreach Events will be held during the application period to launch this sixth round of program funding. These free informational sessions will include presentations by the program coordinator, as well as previous and current Rocket Grant recipients. The objective is to best prepare artists in the 80-mile region for the application process.

At the event, 2012 recipient Karl Fundenberger will present about Cyclotrope Cinema, and fellow 2012 recipient Dave Loewenstein will read from the publication arising from his Give Take Give project.
