Statement of Work

Bo Hubbard's work focuses on creating surreal objects and environments from repurposed items (trash). Bo draws inspiration for post-apocalyptic societies, human prehistory, collections, estate sales, interior design and Martha Stewart. Bo is interested in the ability for objects to reference the past, present and future. His current work explores an eccentric and queer recreation of mundane objects to discuss function, necessity, and escapism.

Bo is the co-founder of Alter Art Space and a member of the House of Alter. Alter Art Space works to promote unconventional DIY programming, interactive installations, and community engagement through night-life. The House of Alter is a drag family comprised of Boi Boy, Scott Knettle, Maura C. Queenan, Pup Jenkins, Chris Bender, and Bo Hubbard. The family performs, hosts, and attends a variety of local events.
