Statement of Work

My work as a composer explores the role that music and sound have in a variety of settings be it concert music, multimedia, interdisciplinary collaborations, street performance, and sonification. My compositional style blends virtuosity and improvisation into works that blur the line between pitch and noise with the aid of electronics and unconventional performer techniques. In addition, my work as a performer and improviser also informs my work as a composer, often experimenting on ideas that become full-fledged works. Influences include the musical traditions of Electroacoustic, Minimalism, and Indeterminacy; as well as literature, science, and visual art.
