Get ready to break curfew — Mix & Max Art Prom is just around the corner! ✨ Join us on October 18 at the Charlotte Street Campus (3333 Wyoming Street, Kansas City, MO 64111) for a night of maximalist mischief, dancing, and over-the-top art. From photo ops to karaoke, contraband cocktails to cafeteria feasts, this is not your average school dance.
Here’s some of the trouble-makers turning our campus upside-down:
Step into each prom-perfect space at Mix & Max Art Prom and discover something new: in • 🌊˖°𓇼Under the Sea🐚⋆❀˖° (the cafeteria), dive into projected sculptural works by Sean Nash animated by Adrian Halpern, hybrid creatures inspired by marine organisms and local urban farmers, then dance to the pop/dance/R&B sounds of Jamogi & the Jammers. Break the rules and end up in 🏫⏳DETENTION ✍️😠 with Regina Lombardo and Kaitlyn Gardner. Outside in the ⁺₊❅⋆ ⁺Winter Wonderland₊❆⋆𐙚 (Courtyard) Graham Carroll has your prom photo setup. Over in ❤️ 🧡 💛 Over the Rainbow💚 💙 💜 (the gym), DJ SKEME will keep the dance floor alive all night, while in 👑🏰🐉Fairtytale Forest 🌲🌳🍄 (the library), artists Emily Chase and Nora Snyder transform the space into a paper-and-light dreamscape exploring memory, myth, and animation.
Proceeds from the prom benefit Charlotte Street’s work in Kansas City, providing direct support to hundreds of local artists in 2025.
