Sunday, November 12th, from 12-2 PM, PLUG Projects and Informality Blog will host a reception celebrating the release of Artist Run KC and the newly updated PLUG BOOK. This event is a part of Every Street is Charlotte Street, a cross-city celebration of the Charlotte Street Foundation’s 20th Anniversary. This event will feature refreshments, a limited run of free zines, and the opportunity to place an order for copies of the PLUG BOOK.
Artist Run KC is a print publication from Informality that encapsulates a partial history of artist-run spaces in Kansas City. This edition features interviews with former Charlotte Street Foundation Artist Award Fellows who have run spaces or have contributed to the city’s artist-run scene. Formatted in a similar style to PLUG Project’s 8 ½ x 11, these tabloid-format loose bound interviews fill a standard manila envelope with a part of Kansas City art history. This zine was produced by Informality in collaboration with PLUG Projects and commissioned by the Charlotte Street Foundation for their 20th anniversary celebration, Every Street is Charlotte Street. Artist Run KC features interviews with David Ford, Tom Gregg, Peregrine Honig, Mike Erikson, Erica Lynne Hanson, Garry Noland, Glenn North, Dylan Mortimer, Sean Starowitz, Caleb Taylor, Heidi Van, Jaimie Warren, and Davin Watne.
The PLUG BOOK beautifully documents the last six years of PLUG Projects exhibitions and programming in a full-color hard-bound book.
