A coming together of Kansas City-specific and not-so-specific experiences and images, Charlotte Street Curator-In-Residence Jamilee Polson Lacy’s first exhibition, Have I been here before? attempts to capture what is just so familiar about this place, that place or any place. This show features the work of artists and writers who combine real places with false moments to create sites and situations that may be vaguely familiar yet curious to all.

Through its Curatorial Residency Program, Charlotte Street Foundation seeks to provide new opportunities for outstanding emerging curators from around the country to immerse themselves in the arts ecosystem of the Kansas City region. The program provides multi-faceted support for an annually selected curator-in-residence to develop and present original contemporary arts programming responsive to inclusive of the work of Kansas City-area artists.
