Join us for Hi-Fi House: Listening Party, an intimate experience of listening, learning, and connecting with contemporary Black artists representing the Midwest region.

Kansas City-based singer-songwriters Sisterbot and Kenia Lizet Balquier aka 2w33dy will share records that inspire their own practices and what music means to them. We might even get blessed and hear some recordings of their original work during this listening party.

ABOUT HI-FI HOUSE

Hi-Fi House is a project rooted in the belief that every community needs a space dedicated to social listening. This one-of-a-kind experiment created an accessible shared music collection and listening environment in Omaha, Nebraska between 2015 and 2020.

The Charlotte Street x Hi-Fi House Listening Parties will introduce Hi-Fi’s unique vision of social listening to a new audience of KCMO-based listeners. Multidisciplinary artists from the central Midwest region will be invited to share music from a curated list of vinyl created by Mary Lawson, Jon Ocshner and invited guest artists. At the end of each Listening Party, audiences members will be invited to play a record or two!
