ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jeramy Zimmerman is a movement artist in Kansas City, MO. Her work has been performed on stages and in unexpected places in New York, France, Washington DC, Kansas City. In KC, her work has been seen at the KC Public Library, the Streetcar, Folly Theater, Capsule, and Charlotte Street. She is a past Resident Artist at Charlotte Street.

She is a founder and the Artistic Director of CatScratch Theatre. In Brooklyn, she founded and directed FLICfest, focused on feature-length dance theatre, producing the work of more than 45 emerging and mid-career choreographers; as well as 60x60Dance, a festival of one-minute works, which included hundreds of NYC dancers. Most recently, she is the founder of Making Moves: The Festival, premiering in November 2022. MM:TF brings local performance makers together with a master of the craft for a 5-day workshop and performance festival.

A native of Kansas City, Jeramy earned her B.F.A. at Stephens College and her M.F.A. at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. In NYC, she danced with many, but most closely with Stephan Koplowitz, Mary Seidman, Kaoru Ikeda, and Stanley Love. Her zeitgeist moment was as a reperformer in The Artist is Present, MoMA’s epic retrospective of the work of Marina Abramovitz.

In DC, she worked with the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange and Art-O-Matic. As Art-O-Matic’s first Dance Facilitator, she helped form a multi-disciplinary, non-juried art show that included more than 700 visual artists, 40 performance groups and 70 bands. While in DC, she also created and produced her first dance festival, On the Edge: Downtown Festival of Modern Dance.

She is excited about the growing KC dance community and honored to be part of Making Moves.
