Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 7:30-8:30 PM

On March 16th, Making Moves and EMS will be joining forces and collaborating for an evening of improvised music and dance.
For both organizations and their respective monthly series, collaboration and creating community are central to the missions of each group. Combining the practices of improvisation to both mediums, we hope to further create and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. We also invite other dancers/choreographers to join us to freely improvise in the space. Masks indoors are required. Proof of vaccination required upon entry. Making Moves is a monthly dance performance series located in Kansas City, MO, curated and produced by Kyle Mullins. Making Moves is dedicated to the creation and development of new works by local and regional dance makers and to expose Kansas City audiences to a wider array of contemporary dance making. Making Moves provides area choreographers, dancers, and audiences the opportunity to share in the process of new and experimental work in both traditional and non-traditional performance venues. Experimentation, risk-taking, collaboration, and multi-disciplinary approaches are encouraged.

EMAS Presents is a monthly experimental and improvised music series curated by Seth Andrew Davis + Evan Verploegh, an extension of the collective ensemble Extemporaneous Music & Arts Society. EMAS aims to highlight local, national, and international music practitioners in order to grow Kansas City’s improvised music community.
