MdW Fair

Friday, September 9 through Sunday, September 11, 2022

MdW (pronounced “Midway”) is an artist-run Assembly co-designed by seven organizing partners in the central Midwest, including Charlotte Street! We’ll be working to share Missouri-based projects with our neighboring states and build regional connections amongst artist-run projects.

MDW DRIFTS

Tag along our regional road trips with the MdW Drifts! MDW Drift participants will have the opportunity to tour Site Three at the H&R Block Artspace in the morning, and join Charlotte Street at our 25th Anniversary Block Party happening July 16 from 1-5 PM. Block Party guests will enjoy campus tours, performances, family-friendly activities, interactive experiences, refreshments, and more. Exhibitions on view at Charlotte Street include Joy and Other Feats of Strength and 25. MDW guests are welcome to join Charlotte Street staff for a community dinner on July 16 starting at 5:30 PM.

MDW ATLAS

Part alternative archive, part grassroots mapping initiative, MdW Atlas is a daily online publication that will take place in July and August. Each month, a different editorial partner from each state will commission contributions of stories, artwork, media, and other genres. In total, the MdW Atlas will comprise over 60 contributions to serve as a guide for a wide swath of creative activity across the region. Editorial Partner:

MDW ASSEMBLY

Artist-run spaces/orgs from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Missouri are invited to convene in Chicago for the MdW Assembly happening Sepember 8-11, 2022. Applications are due June 30! To learn more, visit mdwfair.org
