Monday, September 26, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM

Join us for a songwriting workshop with Kansas City’s songstress and producer, Adeta Marie and a step by step writing technique workshop with artist and writer Unique! Participants at this month’s Midwest Poetics Writing workshop will have the opportunity to learn more about both Adeta and Unique’s writing practice/process and will be encouraged to write in response to recordings and prompts prepared by both artists.

Midwest Poetics is an opportunity for artists to make space, celebrate and connect with the many voices that make the music and performance scenes that thrive in the Midwest. We want to give the mic to Black, and Indigenous vocalists, poets, writers, musicians and performers of color to celebrate their craft. Midwest Poetics is a space for us all where we will, both workshop new material in a peer-to-peer setting. Workshops will lead up to a quarterly showcase where artists will be encouraged to share what they’ve workshopped!
