Project Cup: Sketch! Color! Play!

On December 2, Project: Cup invites nine ceramic artists to the table to…Sketch! Color! Play! Doodle! Cut and Paste! Draw! We’re exploring the role that drawing plays in the research, design, and development of ideas and inspiration. In the spirit of sharing and collaboration, each artist has designed a printable activity page to share and discuss during the workshop. This event is open to all ages. No art experience required!

Artists included in this event are: Marty Arnold, Bekah Bliss, Mike Cerv, Chandra Debuse, Susan Flower, Paul Maloney, Luke Neves, Lilly Powell, and Adams Puryear.

ABOUT PROJECT: CUP

Project: Cup is a series organized by Casey Whittier in partnership with Charlotte Street, and is supported by the ArtsKC Inspiration Grant, Studio Potter, Kansas City Art Institute, and Artaxis. Project: Cup will culminate in a permanent Cup Library for the William T. Kemper Library at Charlotte Street. (Instagram: @projectcup_csf)

Hope-Lian Vinson

Hope-Lian Vinson is a Kansas City-based visual artist whose works recast elements of the built environment to explore internal narratives of history and identity. With a B.F.A in Painting, Art History, and a Social Practice Certificate from the Kansas City Art Institute, Hope-Lian works at the intersections of art and ecology by using locally-sourced clay and natural materials to reference place and geological processes. They have showcased works in MdW Atlas, SITE ONE, Sapien Gallery, and have recently returned from the Chop Wood Carry Water arts residency in the Driftless region of NW Illinois. They currently serve as the Marketing + Communications Manager at Charlotte Street, where they use their artistic background in community-organizing to provide critical support for Charlotte Street programs and initiatives.
