Scratch Night is an eclectic salon of new performances from KC’s most exciting generative artists alongside a unique audience feedback framework. This month’s lineup features KadeshFlow (music), Olivia Emert (choreography), i3 collective (performance art), and Hadiza (new music, Charlotte Street Foundation Studio Resident).

KadeshFlow is “a propulsive emcee, a bold songwriter, a skilled trombonist, an auspicious producer and an enterprising artist” (90.9 The Bridge).

Olivia Emert: MINUCODE by Marta Minujín 
Olivia Emert debuts new choreography inspired by MINUCODE by Marta Minujín and exploring awareness of personal relationships, tendencies, and daily movement and routines.

i3 Collective: Terms and Conditions

i3 Collective’s “Terms and Conditions” explores the social contract between people who work together and develop an unstable romance. Featuring preserved texts, AI generated content, data visualizations, and music composition to transcend the linguistic data, expressing audibly what language cannot.


Hadiza. performs stripped down versions of previously released songs from her album Shadow Weight (released in 2019), and new work in the Diaspora Gothic style she has been developing since her first EP, ‘Gone’ (released in 2018).




A new cutting-edge live + digital arts incubator, borderlandsKC presents adventurous projects expanding Kansas City’s spectrum for artistic invention. Led by Jay Gilman, a recently-returned KC native, Jay spent more than a decade as a curator, producer, and civic practice artist in Minneapolis and Philadelphia.
