In 2026, supporting individual artists as culture bearers and an essential workforce in our Kansas City community is vital. Charlotte Street is working every day to support Kansas City’s forward-thinking visual artists, writers, and performers—acting as the primary incubator, provocateur, and connector for the region’s contemporary arts community, and its leading advocate on the national stage.

Last year alone, Charlotte Street:

  • Served 732 artists of all disciplines and career stages through awards and grants, residencies, and public events.
  • Distributed over $240,000 directly to individual artists and small arts operations—the largest amount of funds granted directly to individual artists by any local organization.
  • Produced 77 free public events—creating accessible opportunities for local audiences to connect with new, multidisciplinary art and artists, building community, and growing the fabric of Kansas City’s cultural landscape.

Gala at Charlotte Street is a celebration of our artist community, and one of the most wildly creative events in Kansas City. This year, we’re inviting y’all down to the Charlotte Street Ranch. Sponsors will begin the evening at our VIP Studio Pre-Party where guests will wet their whistles and enjoy vittles with fellow supporters and the opportunity to be costumed and styled by Kansas City artists. Guests will then mosey on over the main event, featuring lively immersive experiences that include installations and performances by local artists, off-the-wall-activities, and an array of creative food and drinks.

Charlotte Street cultivates collaboration, ambitious artistic creation, and whole-person care for hundred of local artists each year by providing the resources, space, and community to help them take creative risks and build sustainable careers and lives in Kansas City.
