Xing Over, a collaborative exhibition by Amy Fredman + Jeni Mc – Sept 19

Charlotte Street is pleased to present Xing Over, part of the Charlotte Street Studio Residency Program ¶ Series. Xing Over describes the art processes of Amy Fredman and Jeni Mc as both individuals and collaborators. Fredman’s embroidered paintings consist of threads repeatedly crossed on top of each other, resulting in re-creations of collaged photographs. Mc describes her photographs as “domestic wax museums of (possibly failing) possibilities.” Both artists borrow from each other’s practice in order to create new work, crossing imagery over from polite reality to disturbing fantasy.
