Charlotte Street provides vital support to Kansas City’s arts ecosystem by providing opportunities for individual artists and collectives through the Studio Residency and StartUp Residency programs. Selected artists are provided free studio space at Charlotte Street’s campus and through storefront studios at the Pendleton Arts Block, located in the historic Northeast Neighborhood. Studio Residency Program
Annually, more than 125 artists apply to Charlotte Street’s multidisciplinary Studio Residency Program. The program provides free studio and rehearsal spaces to a mixed disciplinary cohort of exceptional artists for 2 year-long terms. Through the program’s offerings, Charlotte Street’s Studio Residency Program encourages creative production, artistic experimentation, professional development, and community building.
StartUp Residency Program
Charlotte Street’s Startup Residency aims to foster the development of an up-and-coming, innovative startup such as an artist-run collaborative, business, or organization. This program builds upon Charlotte Street’s 26-year history of providing support and catalytic opportunities for Kansas City-based arts initiatives, entrepreneurs, and collaborative groups in their earliest stages of development.
