Open Call is an opportunity for artists to submit proposals for Charlotte Street’s state-of-the-art performing and exhibition spaces. Artists, curators and cultural producers wishing to partner with Charlotte Street are invited to produce programming, including but not limited to:
- Visual art exhibitions
- Installations
- Original live performances (dance, theater, music, performance art, spoken word, etc.)
- Video screenings
- Literary readings/events
- Public workshops
- Collaborative projects
Proposals are evaluated by an external Programming Committee comprising of local, regional, and national arts partners.

Generate contemporary arts programming in Charlotte Street’s state-of-the-art exhibition and performing spaces
•
Connect with new artists and audiences across disciplines in Kansas City and beyond
•
Funding for public programming, including, but not limited to exhibitions, performances, workshops, and more
•
Receive programming and marketing support from Charlotte Street staff
Charlotte Street Gallery
Applicants are invited to propose programming for the Charlotte Street Gallery, including, but not limited to large scale group exhibitions, collaborations, ambitious immersive installations, exchange exhibitions, or pop-up contemporary arts programming.

Charlotte Street Stern Theater
Applicants are invited to propose programming for Charlotte Street’s black box, or Stern Theater. Proposals may include, but are not limited to musical performances, experimental performance pieces, installations, mixed media collaborations, theatrical performances, media/film screenings, fashion shows, alternative lectures, panel discussions and dialogues, poetry/spoken word readings, and contemporary art related programming.
