Charlotte Street Foundation welcomes Romanian artist Larisa David to Kansas City for a five-week International Artist Fellowship sponsored by CEC ArtsLink. The public is invited to an informal reception for David, at which she will deliver a short presentation on her background and work to date.

Reception Date: Tuesday, October 14, 2014
Time: 5:30-7:00pm
Location: Esquina Gallery / 1000 W. 25th St., Kansas City, MO

David’s art practice focuses on site-specific projects as a way to engage with peripheral or marginalized populations. Her past projects have been interdisciplinary, utilizing performance, video, and installation, and developed through interactions with communities. Through processes of local collaboration, she investigates society’s everyday practices, codes and behaviors.

David will be in Kansas City producing new work and research from October 9 to November 12, 2014, and will be hosted by Charlotte Street, which received funding from ArtsLink to support her residency. The residency is also supported in part by a contribution from DEMDACO.
