For the third year, Charlotte Street collaborates with Sycamore House, a performance series curated by Kansas City composer and musician Shawn Hansen. The 2014 series presents Storing the Winter, a unique, improvisational dance movement and live experimental music performance on October 9. New York-based dancer Miguel Gutierrez and Mind Over Mirrors (musician Jaime Fennelly) most recently performed this improvised production at the Centre Pompidou (Paris) and the American Realness Festival at Abrons Art Center (New York). Alastair Macaulay of The New York Times called Storing the Winter “my best discovery of the festival.”

Charlotte Street is committed to bringing artists of national and international repute to Kansas City, and to presenting opportunities for Kansas City artists to interact and learn from a greater body of work. In conjunction with his performance, Miguel Gutierrez will be hosting a workshop in partnership with Quixotic School of Performing Arts.
