At 7:00pm on Friday, April 10 & Saturday, April 11, 2015, la Esquina (1000 W. 25th St., KCMO) will host performances of Expectations of Violence/Rites due Spring: B-BAM!, an immersive, interdisciplinary theatre collaboration from artists Cat Mahari, Hermon Mehari, and Ryan Tenney. …B-BAM! is composed of local stories and questions about America and blackness. With street dance, music, and visual imagery, it engages the iconography and reality of the “other” in blackness in Kansas City. This collaboration is an investigation and construction of freedom, creativity, intimacy, and individual specificity—between neighbors, cousins, and strangers. Attendees will be part of the performance, seated amongst the performers.

Tickets will be sold for $10 at the door of each performance. Doors will open at 6:30pm and seating is limited to 30 guests. Performances will begin at 7:00pm.

This event is supported by the Black Archives of Mid-America.
