Charlotte Street Artist Award Fellows Lead 2015 Artists’ Walks at Nelson-Atkins

Charlotte Street Foundation and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art present a fourth year of gallery tours and talks by Charlotte Street Award Fellows. Named Best Gallery Tour by the Pitch (Best of Kansas City, 2012), through these Artists’ Walks acclaimed Kansas City artists engage participants in the museum’s spaces and highlight works that speak to their artistic sensibilities, then discuss their own art through presentations in Lens 2.

“The Artists’ Walks have become a favorite of many, and we are excited this year to have this program become part of the Nelson-Atkins’ Third Thursday events,” said Julie Gordon Dalgleish, executive director of Charlotte Street Foundation. “Each tour and talk is wildly different and always surprising, as each artist brings their specific eye, point of view, and personal connections to artworks in the Nelson-Atkins’ collection. In this way, the tours provide new insights for works in the Museum’s collection and for the work created by the artist giving the tour.”
