Charlotte Street presents “TUNGS” at its Paragraph and Project Space galleries (21 -‐ 23 E. 12th St., Kansas City, Mo), opening Thursday, October 15th with a reception from 5-‐8 p.m. The final exhibition of the 2014-‐15 Charlotte Street Studio Residency -‐ Visiting Curator Series, where local and regional arts professionals are invited to curate projects featuring the work of current Studio Residents including visual artworks and performances. This exhibition is curated by Joel Damon, co-‐owner/curator of Project Project in Omaha, NE.

TUNGS is an investigation into the work of three visual makers and the system of communication trapped within it. Each artist in this exhibition speaks through a unique visual filter and is forced to share their practice in ways potentially difficult to comprehend regardless of the fact that many of the ideas and concepts shared are common human experiences and emotions. The goal of presenting these makers together in one place is not to provide the opportunity to gain a new level of backstory, it is to allow a moment for the viewer to understand and yet still not know and to encourage these three artists to continue speaking in whatever language they deem appropriate. They are talking about what you know, they are talking about you, they are talking to you.
