Because of This performances are an opportunity for artists to make space, celebrate, and connect the many voices that make the music and performance scenes that thrive in the Midwest. We want to give the mic to the Black, Indigenous vocalists, poets, musicians and performers of color to celebrate their craft. Come celebrate the works of: Mayyadda (Minneapolis, Minnesota) Tonina Saputo (St. Louis, Missouri) Dwight Edward Brown Jr. (Lincoln, Nebraska) — Because Of This performances will be offered through a virtual platform until quarter three of this series — at which point we will be hosting them in person at Charlotte Street Foundation’s Courtyard.
