Brickmaking has a long history and role in architectural ornamentation. As part of Reflecting the City with Jill Downen and Corey Antis, participants will learn easy-to-follow brick-making techniques using clay, concrete, and cardboard molds. Learn how to incorporate unique textures and patterns from the built environment to create your own “one-of-a-kind brick.”

All materials are provided. Teaching assistants will be on hand to mix the concrete and cast each brick.

At the end of the workshop, selected works will be displayed in the exhibition, Reflecting the City, on view from March 29 through May 4, 2024. Charlotte Street will return bricks to each workshop participant after the exhibition.

Spots are limited. Registration required. Ages 13 and up are welcome.

If you have any questions, please contact Gallery + Programs Manager Kimi Kitada at kimberly@charlottestreet.org.
