Making Moves: Audience Encounters

Making Moves: Audience Encounters is a peek behind the stage curtain. Artists of the Making Moves 2023 Cohort will guide the audience through a series of bite-sized performance experiences designed to engage and captivate. Performance will be everywhere, onstage and off, as we move through Charlotte Street’s building. Afterward, we’ll facilitate a casual conversation over a beverage in the lobby. Please join us!

The Making Moves cohort is an artist-led experiment. We are explorers on a journey of performance-making. We will share ideas and process, always looking to deepen our craft to take our art to new heights. Artists collaborating in this audience experience include Alexis Borth, Olivia Emert, Kimi Kitada, Pasju Kubert, and Jeramy Zimmerman. We are always looking for new voices, so if you are an artist looking for community, come see what we’re about! The audience are our partners on this journey, so we welcome your reflections and participation.

ABOUT MAKING MOVES

Making Moves is a monthly dance performance series Founded by Kyle Mullins in 2018, and curated and produced by Jeramy Zimmerman. Making Moves is dedicated to the creation and development of new works by local and regional dance makers and to expose Kansas City audiences to a wider array of contemporary dance making.

Making Moves provides area choreographers, dancers, and audiences the opportunity to share in the process of new and experimental work in both traditional and non-traditional performance venues. Experimentation, risk-taking, collaboration, and multi-disciplinary approaches are encouraged.
