ProdoLAB: Gossamer Tides feat. Meyadi/ Emily Chase/ Matt Magerkuth

ProdoLAB presents a new collaboration with Meyadi and Emily Chase in “Gossamer Tides,” an ethereal soundscape that weaves together the sky and the sea.

Audiences are invited to explore Chase’s diaphanous sculptures of silk and paper and a performance by Meyadi and cellist Matt Magerkuth as they invoke the fluidity and beauty of flowing water and light. Light and projection artist Matte Glossy Media will be generating an immersive video installation simulating the ebb and flow of moving currents.

ProdoLAB is a bimonthly experimental platform in partnership with musician/composer Eddie Moore that pairs Kansas City time-based artists, producers, and musicians to collaborate on a new piece for a one-night-only showcase at Charlotte Street. Each performance is followed by a Q&A session with the artists.

Hope-Lian Vinson

Hope-Lian Vinson is a Kansas City-based visual artist whose works recast elements of the built environment to explore internal narratives of history and identity. With a B.F.A in Painting, Art History, and a Social Practice Certificate from the Kansas City Art Institute, Hope-Lian works at the intersections of art and ecology by using locally-sourced clay and natural materials to reference place and geological processes. They have showcased works in MdW Atlas, SITE ONE, Sapien Gallery, and have recently returned from the Chop Wood Carry Water arts residency in the Driftless region of NW Illinois. They currently serve as the Marketing + Communications Manager at Charlotte Street, where they use their artistic background in community-organizing to provide critical support for Charlotte Street programs and initiatives.
