Whisper is an immersive dance experience that will include four areas of the park beginning at the Colonnade, descending steps onto Cliff Drive, pausing at Green Lake, and concluding at the Cliff Drive climbing rock face. Whisper sponsored by Charlotte Street Foundation through Art Where You’re At project grants as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Kansas City, MO. Tickets are $18 plus fees.
Performing artists include: Katie Brennan, Oscar Trujillo, and Amanda January with original music performed by Jamie Roach and Brian Deal.

An intimate audience of 20 will be afforded the opportunity to witness, reflect and connect within the urban and natural landscape of Cliff Drive as they are guided through the multiple sites by musicians and dancers.
Safety Requirement: Masks and social distancing will be required; audience members can readily make viewing choices, at least 6 feet apart, in the spacious environment provided by Cliff Drive.
Audience encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes as they will be standing or walking for one hour. Masks are mandatory, and bug spray, sunscreen and water are recommended for the site-specific experience. If audience members have accessibility needs, an alternate entry point to the experience that does not include stairs will be offered. Artists Bios:
Katie Brennan has performed in Kansas City with 940 Dance Company, City in Motion, and Gurukul Indian Dance Company. She spent a season with Core Project Chicago before moving to NYC where she completed dance therapy post-graduate work and performed with Kinesis Project Dance Theater. In Miami, Katie has performed and created work with NWD projects, Karen Peterson & Dancers, and Momentum Dance Company. Katie currently splits her time between Miami and Kansas City balancing her artistic pursuits and private dance therapy/psychotherapy practice.
Oscar Trujillo’s career in dance and movement education has taken him to New York, San Francisco, Miami and now Kansas City, MO. A practicing yoga teacher, somatic coach and massage therapist, he continues to perform with Karen Peterson and Dancers, Randolph Ward and NWD Projects. His performance credits include Maija Garcia/Organic Magnetics, Margaret Jenkins Dance Company, Capacitor, Ramon Ramos Alayo, Robert Moses’ Kin and more.
Amanda January, native of Kansas City, has most recently performed with Tulsa Modern Movement. She was both performer and choreographer with City In Motion Dance Theater for 10 seasons while also performing with Gurukul Dance Company in the classical Indian dance style of Kuchipudi. Amanda was a founding member of the Kansas City Flamenco group De los Barrios.
Jamie Roach has lived in the Kansas City area for 20 years. She is a classically trained violinist who primarily plays with a live band in the acoustic, rock and contemporary Christian genres. Jamie works as the Executive Director of a local housing nonprofit and is obsessed with international travel.
Brian Deal born and raised in Kansas City, is a passionate musician who has been playing music in several forms for 31 years. He is a Christ follower, husband, and father to three boys. In addition to this, Brian is the lead audio-visual specialist for Kansas City Public Schools.
