Kansas City, MO, May 25, 2023: Charlotte Street is pleased to announce the eleven artists joining its 2023-2025 Studio Residency. This Residency program provides free studio and rehearsal spaces to a mixed-disciplinary cohort of exceptional Kansas City area artists for a 2-year term. The Studio Residency is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and Windgate Foundation.
In addition to free space at Charlotte Street’s arts campus, the Residency program provides artists with mentorships, exhibition and performance opportunities, curator studio visits, and access to a multidisciplinary network of artist peers. The program encourages creative production, artistic experimentation, and community building. It centers Charlotte Streets’ values of risk-taking, openness, excellence, and collaboration by creating an environment where artists use the platforms and resources available to meet personal goals and career milestones. This program currently supports 30 artists.
The eleven artists selected for the 2023 – 2025 term were chosen through a competitive juried process and included three writers, six performers, and two visual artists. The 2023 – 2025 Residency term will start in late June, joining the 2022 – 2024 cohort of residents.
