June’s EMAS Presents features the Chicago improvised and experimental ensemble Galaxxu Chorale Toward Seeping Handfuls of Petrol.

Galaxxu Chorale Toward Seeping Handfuls of Petrol draws on a diverse range of influences combining improvised jazz, noise rock, experimental folk and drone. Full of whimsy yet forlorn, chaotic yet open and sparse, this nebulous synesthesia creates space so that we confront our deepest truths and challenge ourselves to strive for something greater than ourselves. But even as we bask in its radiant glow, we are reminded that Galaxxu remains a refraction of our collective hopes, dreams, and fears. The experience is surreal, reminding us of the infinite possibilities that exist beyond what we see with our naked eye. It is a music where anything is possible, and everything is beautiful.

The evening will begin with an opening set by members of the Extemporaneous Music & Arts Society.
