Scratch Night is an an eclectic salon of works-in-progress from KC’s most exciting generative artists alongside a unique audience feedback framework. This month’s lineup includes Colibrósa Productions, Miki P, and Ryan Bernsten.

Colibrósa Productions: Mi Ángel

Colibrósa Productions will present an excerpt of a new play, ‘Mi Ángel’, inspired by ‘Machinal’ (Sophie Treadwell, 1928). A condemnation of capitalism and a reimagining of the American Dream, this new work depicts the clashing of cultural values through the interweaving of languages that colored the Southwestern landscape of playwright Marisa Grady’s upbringing.

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Miki P

Kansas City based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Miki P will perform an intimate acoustic set of 3 yet-to-be-released songs.
Ryan Bernsten: NOVEL
In the context of cultural and class resentments reaching a boiling point of horrifying proportions in American society, NOVEL is a horror play that sets its caustic sights on the academic industrial complex and the soul-rending trauma upon which it feasts. From playwright Ryan Bernsten, writer of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival’s acclaimed Atlantic and more.
